Ashbourne Educate Together N.S. is a co-educational, vertical school with 16 mainstream classes and 2 Autism classes.
Roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management, as specified in DES Circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
A commitment to promoting the Educate Together ethos and the use of Restorative Practice is essential.
The following skills, knowledge, and experience are desirable:
• Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation
• Strong organisational capabilities including prioritising workload
• Evidence of continuing professional development in a leadership role
• Ability to promote a culture of caring, learning, and creativity in the school
• Excellent communication skills, expressed both in leadership and teamwork
• Knowledge of Additional Educational Needs and a commitment to inclusion
• Ability to encourage and foster the involvement of parents/guardians and the wider community
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland, be fully Garda vetted, and have a minimum of at least 5 years of teaching experience.
