The Board of Management of Naomh Maodhog N.S. invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent position in a teaching capacity. The school has a Catholic ethos and is under the patronage of the Bishop of Kilmore.

The appointment to the position is subject, but not limited, to current and continuing registration with the Teaching Council.

Certification to teach Religious Education should be included with the application.
The Deputy Principal will cooperate with the Principal in the fulfillment of the Principal's role and will deputise as the principal in the Principal's absence. The Deputy Principal will work in collaboration with the Principal and all other members of the school staff to ensure a positive learning experience for all pupils.

The role and responsibilities of the post are subject to review and change and relate to the following four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/2019
- Leading teaching and learning
- Managing the Organisation
- Leading the School Development
- Developing Leadership Capacity

The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
A clear understanding of and commitment to the ethos, identity and characteristic spirit of the Catholic school
In-depth knowledge of the curriculum.
Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead teaching and learning.
Proven ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative manner.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Qualification in and experience with Droichead.
Experience in the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives.
Previous experience in policy formulation and implementation
An in-depth understanding, knowledge and experience of Special Education.
The responsibilities of the role will, at times require the successful candidate to participate in the leadership role outside the standard school day.

The appointment will also be subject to confirmation of qualifications, Garda Vetting requirements (DES Circular 31/2016) and Occupational Health Screening
