Dromindoora National School is a co-educational rural school, at the very heart of the local community. An interest in the promotion of Sport, Gaeilge and Music in the school, is desirable. The roles and responsibilities for the position are set out in the four domains as outlined in the Leadership and Management circular 0044/2019 Chapter 4.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.

In addition the following skills, knowledge, competencies and experience are desirable:
• In-depth knowledge of the curriculum
• Teaching experience across the various classes
• Understanding and knowledge of special education needs, inclusion and diversity in education
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team and as a team leader
• Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation
• Experience in developing, implementing, operating and evaluating innovative school-based initiatives
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to foster links with parents/guardians and the wider community
• Experience with Droichead is desirable
• A clear understanding of and commitment to the ethos, identity and characteristic spirit of the Catholic school
