Rathbeggan NS has been designated by the Department of Education and Skills as a base school for the Primary Substitute Supply Panel. The purpose of the Substitute Supply Panel is to provide substitute cover, in a designated cluster of nearby schools , for teachers who are absent on short term substitutable leave.

Supply panel teachers
- will be appointed by Rathbeggan NS (the base school) under a fixed-term contract for one year
- will be required to provide substitute cover in all schools in the designated cluster
- may be deployed into a variety of settings including various class standards and special education settings including ASD Classes.

Travel expenses will be payable to the supply panel teacher as per Circular 0009/2015. Further details of the Supply Panel Scheme can be found in Circular 59/2019
