This recruitment process will be used to fill x2 whole fixed term job share positions and x1 .5 fixed term job share position

St. Catherine's Special School educates pupils with moderate, severe, profound LD and students who have Autism with complex needs. Pupils range from 4-18 years. Applicants should have minimum qualifications as per DES Circular 44/2019.

Essential competencies for this position are: Experience of working with pupils with students with challenging behaviour, Autism and Intellectual disability.
Experience and training in MAPA, Lamh, PECS, behaviour management, communication, ACC devices, ABA and positive behaviour support is advantageous.

Candidates must be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect the ethos of the school.

Duties may include assisting pupils in the swimming pool and assisting on out-of-school visits, walks, horse riding and similar activities. The successful candidate may be required to assist in catering for the purpose of a specific pupil.
