Scoil Bernadette is a co-educational post-primary special school, which caters for the needs of students aged 12 – 18 years with mild general learning disabilities. The aim of the school staff is to
provide a secure, caring and supportive environment, through the provision of post-primary social, personal, academic, vocational and relevant life skill programmes.
Many students present with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD,
Emotional/Behavioural, medical and physical etc. Successful candidates would be expected to perform the normal range of duties for a SNA as set out in DES and NCSE guidelines. Knowledge and experience of working with teenagers in a special school/class is desirable. The appointments are subject to reference checks, Garda Vetting.
We are seeking to employ 4 full-time permanent classroom SNAs:
- 2 due to recent retirements
- 1 post to address the needs of a hearing impaired student (Familiarity with Irish Sign Language desirable)
- 1 post due to an increased allocation from the NCSE
We are also looking to recruit 1 SNA full-time and a 0.5 SNA post (16hrs) both arising from Job Sharing arrangements.
All contracts are beginning from 1st September 2023.
