Mullinahone National School is a Catholic school, under the patronage of the Diocese of Cashel and Emly. Staffing includes 6 mainstream class teachers, 2 Special Education Teachers, 1 shared Special Education Teacher and 2.75 SNA. This position is for a Teaching Principal.
Our school strives to promote the happiness and confidence of each child. In addition to high academic expectations, pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in school and community-based activities.
Roles and Responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland, be fully Garda vetted and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience. As Mullinahone N.S. is a Catholic school, applicants for the position must have a certificate to teach R.E.
The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven capacity in leadership and management in a school setting.
A knowledge of and commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school.
Experience in development, implementation and evaluation of school based initiatives.
A knowledge of DEIS and School Self Evaluation.
Evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development.
Appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening, satisfactory references and current and continuing Teaching Council Registration. Please mark envelopes clearly with " Application for Principal Post"
