Blakestown and Mountview Neighbourhood Youth Project (NYP) is a specialised, community-based youth project working with vulnerable 8 – 13 year olds and their families. The project provides developmental programmes and supports; nurturing and empowering all who engage to reach their full potential.


NYP Vacancy for Primary Teacher
(Job Share Maternity Cover 01/09/2022- 13/12/2022)
This position is funded by the Department of Education & Skills

The successful candidate will work with children in two schools in Dublin 15 (Blanchardstown and Ongar) and in the NYP centre devising creative educational programmes to suit the need of the children on the project.

The primary school teacher will:
• Work with children individually and in groups to develop their literacy and numeracy in schools and in homework clubs.
• Be the primary contact between the local schools.
• Organise a range of engaging formal and informal educational supports for children.
• Participate with other staff members and with the child’s family and school in implementing and a suitable programme of activities which will enhance the educational development of the child and their families.

Department of Education & Skills salary scales apply. Primary school hours and holidays apply.
