Teacher of Science (Biology)

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic teacher of Science (with Biology Specialism) to join our vibrant International community. Teaching up to and including iGCSE and A Level you will be able to join a school of 38 nationalities in the Alicante region of Spain.
In order to build upon achievements to date, the Headteacher is inviting applications for the post of Teacher of Biology / Science. The vacancy exists because the existing teacher has accepted a new position due to family circumstances after fruitful period of service at the school. The current teacher overseas the holistic teaching of Biology for the whole of secondary including the 6th Form.
This post requires a a fully qualified teacher experienced in the teaching of Science / Biology, up to and including A Level. Experience in preparing students for public examination at IGCSE and A-Level is essential would be an advantage. The Sciences at ELIS are an extremely strong area of the curriculum and it is considered imperative by students and the wider community for it to remain so: It is important to note that there are students currently preparing for international examinations in the summer of 2023 that will require high-quality input and support from day one. The Headteacher views the holistic development of the Science department as a key success factor in the overall development of the school and it is hoped that the successful candidate will have the vision and drive required to move forward with this vision. Furthermore, it is hoped that this post will represent a genuine career advancement opportunity for a suitably qualified teacher. The successful candidate will build upon their existing experience in an environment which drives for ever-higher standards of teaching, learning and academic results.
As well as meeting the requirements of the general candidate specification, the successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, be passionate about their subject and be very well organised. Experience as an Assistant Examiner would be an advantage.
