St. Oliver Plunkett National School is a Catholic school, under the patronage of the Bishop of Killala Diocese.
It is expected that applicants will have a clear understanding of and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school. Applicants must hold a certificate to teach Religious Education.
The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
- An in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience.
- Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead teaching and learning.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in policy development.
- Proven leadership, management, administration and communication skills.
. Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer our school and to deliver all school programmes /initiatives
. A clear understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic Primary School (Copies of certification to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school should be included)
- Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
A minimum of 3 eligible applicants is required for the process to proceed.
Postal applications only to be received no later than 5pm on Thursday 7th July 2022. Please mark envelope 'Principal Teacher Application'
