St John the Evangelist NS, Adamstown is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin. It is situated in the rapidly developing Adamstown SDZ and future development will lead to the school dividing into a junior and senior school.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to continue to lead and strengthen the Catholic ethos of the school.
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council and must have a minimum of five years teaching experience.
The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and
management as set out in Circular 0044/2019.

2. Managing the organisation
3. Leading school development
4. Developing leadership capacity
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
-Excellent communication skills
-Proven ability to work as a member of a team
-Proven leadership skills with evidential experience of managing people
-An in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
-Evidence of relevant continuous professional development
-Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload
-Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead teaching and learning
-Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives
-Previous experience in policy development
-A high level of understanding and knowledge of diversity and inclusion in education
