Scoil Mhuire is a co-educational DEIS Band 2 Catholic school under the patronage of the Diocese of Kerry. There are 16 mainstream classes and 2 Special classes - Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) & Multiple Disabilities (MD).
It is expected that applicants will have a commitment to the Catholic ethos.
Applicants for this position must hold a Certificate in Religious Education.


The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/2019.

3. Leading school development
4. Developing leadership capacity

The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:

- An in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum and a broad range of teaching
experience
- Excellent people management and communication skills
- Proven leadership skills
- A high level of understanding and knowledge of special educational needs and of
inclusion and diversity in education
- Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of
innovative school based initiatives
- Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development
- Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school
- Experience in prioritising planning and organising work load
- Previous experience in policy development
