Eolas Breise:
St. Peter's NS has been designated by the Department of Education and Skills once again as a base school for the Primary Supply Panel (2021/2022).
As per the most recent ‘Measures to increase the availability of substitutes for primary schools for 2021/22’ note, the Dublin North Central Supply panel is being allocated another five fixed term positions for the 2021/22 school year. A sixth vacancy arose on the 6th of January 2022.
St. Peter’s N.S. will be seeking to fill these positions as swiftly as possible. As a result, candidates may be called to interview earlier than the standard designated timeframes in order to supply the other cluster schools with a sufficient number of teachers.
The purpose of the Supply Panel is to provide substitute cover in a designated cluster of schools for teachers who are absent on short term substitutable leave. Supply panel teachers will
- be appointed to St. Peter's NS (the base school) under a fixed-term contract for one year until the 31/08/2022.
- be required to provide substitute cover in all schools (25 in total) in a designated cluster and may be deployed into a variety of settings including various class standards (including multi-grade), special education settings and Irish -medium schools.
This panel is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to get a feel for different types of schools and to try out various different teaching roles. It is also ideal for someone who is looking to sub for the year as you will get paid for holidays and for the summer too.
The Supply Panel is now a temporary additional pathway for NQTs to complete Droichead. Applications for Droichead must be made via the MyRegistration portal on the Teaching Council website by 31 January 2022.
Please clearly mark supply panel post in the email application. Email applications should be sent to stpetersnsapplications@gmail.com
Travel expenses will be payable to the supply panel teacher as per Circular 0009/2015.
Appointment will be subject to current Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
Further details of the Supply Panel Scheme can be found in Circular 0059/2019
Desirable skills/requirements include:
Experience in a range of settings: SET, multi-grade classes. all class settings (including infants) and Irish medium schools.
