Eolas Breise:
This is a 0.5 part-time post (16 hours per week) with additional Croke Park hours. The successful candidate will be expected to work five days a week and complete Croke Park Hours.
Requirements:
SNA QQI Level 5 and or 6 Qualification.
An additional qualification in additional/special needs care is advantageous.
Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development is advantageous.
Evidence of commitment to completing the National Training Programme for SNAs-Certificate in Inclusive School Support is essential.
Experience of working with children with intimate care needs including catheterisation is essential.
Evidence of training in the area of intimate care needs including catheterisation is essential.
Evidence of manual handling training is essential.
Evidence of experience and training in the operation of hoists and equipment is essential.
Evidence of experience and training in the administration of medication is essential.
Evidence of experience and training in supporting children with autism is essential.
The successful candidate will be required to support children with feeding.
The successful candidate will be required to administer medication to children.
The successful candidate will be required to catheterise children who require catheterisation.
The successful candidate will be required to support children with toileting and change children when needed.
The successful candidate will be required to support children with mobility and be able to push children in a wheelchair.
The successful candidate will be required to support children with non-nursing care needs associated with specific medical conditions.
The successful candidate will be required to provide supervision in the class,playground and school grounds.
The successful candidate will be required to support children who need frequent interventions.
The successful candidate will be required to lift and move children and operate a hoist and equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to support children with communication difficulties.
The successful candidate will be required to work with children with Autism.
Candidates must be willing to uphold the ethos of the school.
The candidate must display a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect the dignity and confidentiality of the pupils and will be expected to avail of further training as required. Initial duties may be subject to change.
