Special Needs Assistant

Special Needs Assistant (fixed term, full time post) required for St. Ita's and St. Joseph's Special School, Balloonagh, Tralee, Co. Kerry, under the Patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kerry, 16 Teacher School (+ 5 subject specialist teachers). Experience/skills in working with special needs, ASD and TEACCH, vocational training (mechanics; beauty; hairdressing, painting, decorating, home maintenance, baking and hospitality), physical education, music, drama and holistic well-being training (mindfulness-meditation, Pilates etc) and experience in accommodating pupils with complex medical needs, are not essential but would be beneficial. The initial duties of the post may change according to the care needs of the pupils. A list of suitable applicants may be set up, from which future vacancies may be filled within a four-month period from the date of this advertisement.
