St. Christopher's Special School caters for pupils aged 4-18 with a Moderate General Learning Disability, pupils with a Severe/Profound General Learning Disability and pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder within the Moderate to Severe range. Many pupils have additional complex needs and/or multiple disabilities and medical needs. Experience teaching pupils with Severe/ Profound learning needs in a special school setting is an advantage. The successful applicant should demonstrate experience and competency in the use of augmentative communication and assistive teaching technologies for pupils within the above categories of needs. Experience teaching pupils who display behaviours that challenge is highly desirable.
