St. Oliver's Special School caters for children with moderate and severe to profound intellectual disabilities. Experience teaching in a special school setting will be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate should demonstrate experience and competency in augmentative communication and assisted teaching technologies for pupils with intellectual disabilities, demonstrate the ability to lead a class team, have experience in coordinating Individual Education Plans, working from behavioural support plans and managing behaviours that challenge.
Training in the following is hugely beneficial: PECS, Lámh, TEACCH, MAPA, FEDS and Manual Handling.

St. Oliver's Special School currently has two teaching posts advertised:
- one fixed term job share post
- one maternity leave post
