Applications are invited for the position of Administrative Principal Teacher in Our Lady of Hope School (Roll No. 20555K), which is under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Dermot Farrell.
This is a new special school designated for children, ages 4 - 18 years, with Autism and Complex Needs. The school is due to open in September 2021 in the vacant premises of the former Scoil Colm located in Armagh Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12.
The school will be staffed in accordance with initial enrolment of up to 36 students.
This position is a challenging role and offers an opportunity to shape and develop a new school.
Significant experience with children who have a diagnosis of Autism/ Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or Special Education Needs is required.
The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:
• A commitment to upholding and fostering the Catholic Ethos of
the school.
• An excellent knowledge and understanding of Leadership,
Management and Administration.
• Evidence of commitment to ongoing Professional Development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment, dedication and an ability to lead and empower a
school team and work with external agencies.
• A broad range of teaching experience in the area of SEN.
• A high level of understanding and knowledge in the area of
Autism and Complex Needs.
• A clear vision for the development and expansion of this new
special school.
The roles and responsibilities for this position relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.
Applicants must be currently registered with the Teaching Council and comply with the eligibility criteria for Principalship as set out in Circular Letter 02/02 from the Department of Education.
Applicants must have a Certificate in Religious Education.
A post-graduate qualification in Special Education is desirable.
Appointment will be subject to current Vetting Requirements and
Occupational Health Screening.
