The Board of Management of Scoil na Croise Naofa, Mahon invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent post commencing at the beginning of the next academic year 2021/22.
Scoil na Croise Naofa is a Catholic, DEIS Band 1, co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Cork Most Rev Fintan Gavin. Scoil na Croise is currently a 19 teacher school, but will be a 20 teacher school from September 2021 with the opening of a special class for pupils with ASD.
Together, the Principal, the Deputy Principal, the Assistant Principal and two AP2 post-holders form the Leadership and Management Team working in collaboration to ensure the effective management of our school.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership capacity
The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:-
• An excellent knowledge and understanding of Leadership, Management and Administration in a primary school setting
• A high level of understanding and knowledge in the areas of DEIS / Educational Disadvantage, Special Education, Inclusive Education and Diversity in Education
• Effective communication, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and a proven capacity in successfully leading and managing school teams
• Evidence of and a high commitment to ongoing Professional Development
• A commitment to shared leadership and a willingness to delegate, develop leadership capacity and empower others
• A knowledge of and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of our school
