An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. John of God School, Islandbridge educate pupils with moderate, severe/profound General Learning Disability and Autism with complex needs. We have vacancies for bus escort specific purpose contracts. The bus escort must be available in the mornings from approximately 07.00 to 09:00 and from 14.30 to 17:00. (These are optimum guide times only and depend on the individual routes), Monday to Friday during term time (183 days).

The bus escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to provide for pupil care needs including, but not limited to, assisting them getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
The escort makes arrangements to meet the bus operator at the pick-up point of the first student and the escort is dropped back to that point in the morning and similarly in the afternoon.
Routes may vary but are located between the school and South West Dublin areas.
We are also seeking to form a panel of escorts who would provide occasional substitute cover on these bus runs.

Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting requirements, excellent level of spoken and written English, an occupational health screening, Tusla Child Safeguarding training and satisfactory references.
