An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St Hilda’s Special School educates children aged between 4 to 18 years of age with special educational needs. Pupils have a moderate or severe/profound general learning disability. We are looking for someone who has the necessary skills and interests to work with pupils with complex profiles. Experience working in a setting with pupils with special needs desirable. The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment and have a willingness to participate in all school activities (e.g. swimming). Knowledge and experience of PECs, Lámh, positive behaviour strategies, first aid, manual handling etc. is a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate from this interview will be required to be successful subsequently in applications to National Vetting Bureau and Medmark before any formal appointment can be made. A completed panel form 1 (pf1) must be submitted with the application if applicable. A panel of suitable applicants will be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a four month period from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate. All SNA posts are subject to DES/NCSE review annually.
