An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The Board of Management of St Clare's Cavan invites applications for the position of principal. St Clare's has a Catholic ethos and operates under the patronage of the Bishop of Kilmore. The school strives to be child-centred, happy & safe environment for all its pupils to learn & develop to the best of their individual strengths & abilities.
The roles & responsibilities for this post relate to the following four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 44/2019
1) Leading Teaching & Learning
2) Managing the Organisation
3) Leading School Development
4) Developing Leadership capacity
The current teaching staff comprises of 51 teachers including admin Deputy Principal
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the strong interpersonal skills that are required to lead & maintain a large thriving school community.
A strong commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential.
In addition, the following skills, experience & knowledge are desirable:
Experience of teaching in a DEIS school and knowledge of DEIS programmes & initiatives
Leadership skills including policy development & implementation
Experience of the SSE process
Proven ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to promote a culture of harmony & well being
An interest in the promotion of extra curricular activities
A commitment to high academic expectations

Please note: For teachers who qualified prior to 2011, a recognised qualification to teach Catholic Religious Education on the island of Ireland is desirable.
