Post-Primary Special Class Teacher
Fixed-Term Post: 19 October 2026 – End of Academic Year 2026/2027
St Killian’s School invites applications for a fixed-term teaching post commencing 19 October 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year 2026/2027.
The post is to cover a career break in a Third Year Post-Primary Special Class.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
● Experience of working in a Special School is desirable.
● Post-Primary teacher training/qualification is desirable.
● The ability to plan, deliver and differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs of pupils with complex learning needs.
● Experience in supporting pupils with behaviours of concern and implementing positive behaviour-support strategies.
● A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment.
● The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, SNAs, families and relevant professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting the individual educational, social and emotional needs of pupils and to supporting their participation and progress across the curriculum.
Terms of Appointment
This is a fixed-term post commencing 19 October 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year 2026/2027, subject to the terms and conditions applicable to the post.
