The Board of Management of Creggs National School, Creggs, Co. Galway invites applications from suitably qualified teachers for a job share position in Special Education Teaching (SET).

Creggs N.S. is a DEIS Rural primary school with mainstream and special classes. We are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and child-centred learning environment in which all pupils are encouraged and supported to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant will job share with an existing Special Education Teacher and will work collaboratively with class teachers, SET colleagues, SNAs, school leadership, parents/guardians and relevant external professionals to support pupils with a range of additional educational needs.

Experience in Special Education Teaching and/or working with pupils with additional educational needs is desirable but not essential. Applicants should demonstrate:

A strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional educational needs.
An ability to plan and deliver appropriate, evidence-informed interventions in literacy, numeracy and other identified areas of need.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
An ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the school’s SET team and wider school community.
A flexible, positive and child-centred approach to teaching and learning.
A commitment to the ethos of Creggs National School.
Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Teaching Council of Ireland and satisfy all Department of Education requirements for appointment to a teaching post.

It is a requirement that the successful candidate holds a valid Statutory Declaration and completes the relevant Form of Undertaking prior to taking up the position.
