Kilbeg N.S. is a vertical school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath, Dr. Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint a Teaching Principal beginning on the 2nd November 2026.
The present teaching staff comprises of one Teaching Principal, three Class Teachers and one SET teacher.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
This school always strives to be a child-centred, happy and safe environment for all its pupils to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of Kilbeg N.S. to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil for their uniqueness and difference. High standards and expectations are promoted, with efforts and initiative recognised and rewarded appropriately.
The roles and responsibilities for post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and
Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. They must have an in-depth knowledge and experience of SEN, EAL and managing special classes/complex situations.
Candidates should be able to display an ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community, as well as a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
