An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

There are two substitute-maternity posts to be filled. The available posts will be filled from this interview process. The posts are for mainstream and SET positions but may change at the determination of the principal.
St. Joseph's NS is a Catholic school. All teacher appointees must hold the appropriate Certificate entitling them to teach Catholic Religious Education.
St. Joseph's NS is seeking professionals who are team players and willing to contribute to the overall development of a busy school.
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
Experience of teaching in a similar sized co-educational school.
Knowledge and experience of teaching children with special educational needs.
Experience of teaching in a multi-grade setting.
Experience in teaching Literacy Lift-Off, Guided Reading, Words Their Way.
Team-Teaching in Literacy and Numeracy advantageous.
Interests/skills /experience in music/sport/I.T/STEM/extra-curricular activities are advantageous.
Details of teaching practice grades are necessary for candidates with less than three years' teaching experience.
Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications, teaching practice grades, current Garda Vetting and Medmark Pre Employment Form.
Appointment to this position will be subject, but not limited to successful, OHS, Garda Vetting, current and continuing Teaching Council Registration, satisfactory references and proof of qualifications. It is a requirement to hold a valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position and it will be requested upon offer of employment.
