An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The Board of Management of Holy Family National School invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent teaching position and the appointment will be made via open competition.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria: Fully registered with the Teaching Council under Route 1(Primary) and have five years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
Holy Family National School provides a secure, caring and creative learning environment for all our pupils. The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Principal to support and develop effective leadership within the school. The Deputy Principal co-operates with the Principal in the fulfilment of the Principal's role and acts or deputises as the Principal in the Principal's absence.

The selection of the successful candidate shall be based on four competencies which are aligned to the Quality Framework for Leadership and Management:
Domain One: Leading Teaching and Leading
Domain Two: Managing the Organisation
Domain Three: Leading School Development
Domain Four: Developing Leadership Capacity
