The Board of Management of Kildimo National School is seeking applications for the position of Caretaker
Hours: 10 hours per week
Working Hours: Flexible
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as Caretaker.
Duties to include (but not limited to)
• Key holding and alarm activation/ responsibility including outside hours
• Monitoring efficiency of heating system ensuring that the school is adequately heated during the cold periods of the year.
• Care and maintenance of school buildings and grounds/gardens.
• Ensure access to the school is free of ice and check salt/grit supplies for Winter.
• Checking for damages and carrying out minor repairs to fixtures and fittings e.g. electrical, plumbing, painting, repairing furniture.
• Operating electrical tools including lawnmower, drill and other equipment as necessary.
• Moving furniture and other school resources to and from storage as necessary.
• To fully comply with the Schools' Health and Safety Policies in relation to care taking duties and to alert Principals/management to any Health and Safety issues around the school.
• A reliable, approachable attitude and a commitment to student safety Requirements & valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position upon offer of employment.
• Plan maintenance projects in cooperation with the Principal/BOM

• Ability to work on own initiative
• Garda Vetting and Fitness to Work declaration of successful candidate will be necessary prior
