An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Lismullen NS is an inclusive school opening two autism classes looking for applications for two Bus Escorts to accompany pupils with autism from their homes to and from the school. Duties will include escorting children to and from Lismullen NS, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated with seatbelts and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point. School
The school is the collection and drop off point for the bus escort.

The vacant position is part-time, term-time only.
Candidates should be able to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way.
Previous experience working with children with autism would be an advantage but is not essential. The escort must have a caring disposition.
All Bus Escorts will have to be Garda vetted by the school. Applicants must supply suitable character references. A Form of Undertaking and a Statutory Declaration will also be required.

Bus routes and schedules are sanctioned and organised by the Transport Section of the Department of Education and Bus Eireann. The contract is subject to change should pupils join/leave the service or school.
Morning class 20 hrs a week over 5 days
7:20 to 9:20am
12pm to 2pm

Afternoon class 10 hrs a week over 5 days
11.20am to 12.20pm
2;40pm to 4.40pm

Hourly rate of pay is currently €15.66. Bus Escorts will not be paid during school holidays. Holiday pay is at a rate of 8% per hours worked.
