An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Clonegal N.S. has two vacancies to fill, one full time permanent SNA post and a second .83 of a post. The first successful candidate will be appointed to the permanent full time post and the next successful candidate will be appointed to the .83 of a post. An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date the Board approves the successful candidate.
It is desirable to have some experience of working in a special class for autistic pupils and that the successful candidates will have a strong understanding of inclusive practice, teamwork, supporting positive behaviour and an interest in Continuous Professional Development. For example, the successful candidate may hold or have a desire to complete the course in Inclusive Support and Care in Education for Special Needs Assistants - currently run by Atlantic Technological University.
It is a requirement to hold a statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position.
