An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Mahoonagh N.S. is a Catholic school. The successful applicant must hold the appropriate Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education and will be expected to demonstrate how they will contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school.
Mahoonagh National School is a mixed, Catholic school with two Autism classes. This vacancy is for a one-year Fixed Term contract.
Successful candidate may be assigned mainstream class or Special Class position. Final allocation will be determined in accordance with school needs. Positions are subject to change at the discretion of the Principal at any stage.
The following experience will be desirable;
Experience of working with Autistic children in an Autism Class or Mainstream Class.
Ability to offer extra curricular activities.
Applicants should be diligent, enthusiastic, highly organised & innovative teachers who are willing to get involved in our whole school community and contribute to the overall development of the school.
Appointment will be subject to Teaching Council registration, current Garda vetting requirements, Occupational Health screening and satisfactory references.
