An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St George’s N.S., Balbriggan, invites applications for two permanent Special Needs Assistant positions and one Fixed-Term position.
St George’s N.S. is an inclusive, multi-cultural Church of Ireland school community with strong values and a clear commitment to supporting every child to flourish. We are seeking caring, committed and professional SNAs who will work as part of a dedicated school team to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
Candidates may be required to work in our autism classes or in mainstream classes, depending on the needs of the pupils and the school.
The successful candidates should:
be kind, patient and respectful in their interactions with children;
be willing to uphold the ethos of the school;
respect the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of all pupils;
work well as part of a team;
be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of pupils and the school;
demonstrate a strong work ethic and a positive, solution-focused attitude;
be willing to engage in relevant CPD linked to the needs of the children and the school;
be willing to participate in and support school activities as required.
Experience and/or training in supporting children with autism, emotional and behavioural needs, communication needs, sensory needs, and/or care needs is desirable.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and completion of the relevant statutory documentation.
