An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Balbriggan Community Special School will cater for students with ASD and moderate and severe intellectual disability with complex needs aged 5 - 18 years.
The successful candidate must be able to work as part of the team in a fast pace environment.
Knowledge and experience of ASD/SEN, ISL, PECS, Lamh, Positive Behavioural Management Strategies is desirable.
Appointments subject to satisfactory references and garda vetting requirements. Balbriggan Community Special School is under the Patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board.
As Balbriggan CSS is a developing school, the long-term enrolment of children in the school is expected to grow from 2026 onwards.
The SNA provides the necessary non teaching services to pupils with assessed educational needs, the SNA acts in a care and support role that is non teaching in nature and works under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, Deputy Principal and Class Teacher. The SNA primary function is to ensure the care and support needs of the students are met on a daily basis.
