An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Gabriel’s School is a special school catering for 65 pupils aged 4–18 years who present with a primary complex physical disability, with or without complex medical needs. Many of our students also have moderate, severe, or profound learning disabilities.

We are seeking committed, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Special Needs Assistants to join our team. Applicants must have significant experience working in a similar special school setting and demonstrate a strong understanding of the complex care, communication, educational, and support needs of children and young people with disabilities.

Successful candidates will be:

Responsive to the individual needs of students and the wider school community.
Energetic, positive, and flexible in their approach to work.
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skilled in supporting students within the classroom and across all aspects of school life.
Committed to promoting student independence, participation, wellbeing, and inclusion.

The following positions are available:

2 Permanent Part-Time Posts – 1 day per week (Fridays)
1 Fixed-Term 0.5 Post – arising from a job-share arrangement
