An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This recruitment process will be used to fill 5 positions:
2 full time permanent positions, 2 full time fixed term positions (32 hours) for the school year and 1 .5 fixed term position (16 hours) for the school year
St. Catherine's Special School educates pupils with moderate, severe, profound LD and students who have Autism with complex needs. Pupils range from 4-18 years. .
Essential competencies for this position are: Experience of working with pupils with behaviours that challenge, Autism and severe/profound learning disability.
Experience and training in Safety Interventions, Lámh, PECS, behaviour management, communication, ACC devices and positive behaviour support is advantageous.
Candidates must be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect the ethos of the school.
Duties may include assisting pupils in the swimming pool and assisting on out-of-school visits, walks, horse riding and similar activities. The successful candidate may be required to assist in catering for the purpose of a specific pupil.
