An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Two infant hour (0.83) SNA posts (Standard Contract/Perm) working in Special Autism Class available from 2026.2027 school year.
Scoil na Croise Naofa, Mahon is a DEIS Band 1 (Deis+ from Sept 26) with approximately 200 pupils. We currently have 1 special Autism Class and will be establishing a 2nd Autism Class from Sept 2026. We are recruiting 2 x SNAs (Infant day hours) to work in those Autism Classes initially.
We are a 24 teacher school, with 5.83 Mainstream SNAs plus 3.83 Special class SNAs. For the last number of years we have had 2 x 0.75 temporary SNAs assigned due to our Ukrainian enrolment. We are unsure if we will have these roles moving forward, but if so, they will be filled from this recruitment process.
