Our Lady's Abbey invites applications from highly dedicated and compassionate candidates for the following Special Needs Assistant post:
1 x 0.83 hours ( Infant day) position
The successful candidate is expected to carry out duties as per circular 0030/2014 and 0032/2026
We are looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school.
We invite those who are energetic, enthusiastic, can contribute to our team and work on his/her own initiative.
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
• Experience in working with students with autism, experience in working with students with special educational needs, experience in working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students.
•Additional relevant qualifications/courses (e.g. first aid, administration of emergency medication etc.).
Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school.
The successful candidate can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal. This includes mainstream classes as well as our autism class.
Our SNA allocation is subject to review at any stage.
Please outline in your letter of application how your skills/ experience meet the requirements of the job description outlined above.
Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening, satisfactory references and completion of Children First Training.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with Supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form (PF1) with their application.
Applications will be accepted by post only.
