The Board of Management of Lisselton N.S., a rural, co-educational school
under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kerry, invites applications for
the position of Teaching Principal, commencing on Wednesday the 9th of
September.
Lisselton N.S. is a vibrant and inclusive school committed to providing a high-
quality, holistic education for all pupils. The Principal will lead a dedicated and
collaborative staff and will work closely with the Board of Management,
parents and the wider school community to ensure the continued
development and success of the school.
The roles and responsibilities of the post relate to the four domains of
Leadership and Management as outlined in Circular 0044/2019.
- Leading teaching and learning
- Managing the Organisation
- Leading School Development
- Developing Leadership Capacity
Applicants must be fully registered (Route 1) with the Teaching Council and
have at least five years teaching experience in a recognised Primary School in
Ireland.
The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification to teach
Religious Education in a Catholic primary school, as well as a commitment to
lead and strengthen the Catholic ethos of the school.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
A clear and ambitious vision for high-quality teaching and learning and a strong
commitment to inclusive and child-centred education.
Proven Leadership and Management within a school setting.
A willingness to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with all
members of the school community.
An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a range of teaching
experience including multi-class settings.
An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and ability to lead
curriculum change.
Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
An in-depth knowledge and experience of SEN.
The ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community.
A strong commitment to Lisselton National Schools values of kindness and
respect.
