This post will require the successful candidate work within Special Classes for students with Autism which features an Inclusive Hub and 2 classes. Most importantly they should have a good empathic understanding of students with Autism and be open to building appropriate relationships with students and staff in developing a very conducive and safe learning environment for the students whist supporting their involvement in mainstream school. Good organisational and teamworking skills are desirable to fulfil this role.
Newtown School is a coeducational Boarding and Day school guided by a Quaker ethos. The school has a wide range of extracurricular activities and an ability to contribute to this area is also desirable. Accommodation on site may also be available for a suitable candidate who is willing to work as part of the residential staff team living and working with the boarding students.
