The National Rehabilitation Community Hospital School invites
applications a from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Post-Primary Teacher in National Rehabilitation Community Hospital School under a fixed term contract of employment.
Required Subject:
Home Economics- 7 hrs per week
Science -7 hours per week
The Paediatric Family-Centred Rehabilitation Programme is the national medical rehabilitation service for children and adolescents up to 18 years requiring a complex specialised rehabilitation service.
Referrals for the service are received from across the Republic of Ireland. The rehabilitation needs of each person referred can be assessed on an inpatient, day patient or outpatient basis.
The successful candidate will be contracted to work with primary and post primary students.
The NRCHS is located on the Daisy ward in the National Rehabilitation Hospital . As a hospital school, we deliver education in multi-grade teaching in a classroom setting and on occasion at the bedside. We work as part of an interdisciplinary team. We provide an education service to children aged 4 to 18 years and across the full spectrum of educational needs.
To qualify for appointment, candidates must be able to comply with the following:
• Be fully registered with the Teaching Council under Route 2 (Post Primary)
. • Experience teaching in a medical setting with students with Acquired Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury is desirable
• Experience supporting students in a resource setting would be advantageous.

It is a requirement to hold a valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position.
