Cara Junior School is a special school for pupils aged 4-12 years who have a dual diagnosis of ASD and an Intellectual Disability between the Mild to Moderate range.
There are currently 13 teachers and 37 Special Needs Assistants on the staff.
Criteria for this position are as follows:
Relevant QQI/FETAC qualifications and experience in working with children with Autism, Intellectual Disability and Challenging Behaviour are desirable.
Experience of working in a special school or special class setting would be preferable. Additional childcare and/or other relevant qualifications/courses (e.g. First Aid, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, Lámh Module1, etc) would be highly desirable.
