Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The successful applicant will be picked up by the taxi at the school in the morning, travel to the student's home to pick them up and accompany them to school. For the afternoon drop off, the successful applicant will accompany the student from the school in the taxi, drop them off at home and the taxi will return the escort to the school.
This role consists of 17.5hrs a week. Early Morning and early afternoon runs. Availability for the two runs are essential.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the student and will be required to assist them getting into and out of the taxi and securing appropriate seatbelts.
Experience working with children with autism is desirable. Candidates will be expected to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way, they will need to communicate regarding pick ups/drop offs, illness, traffic, delays etc.
Appointment is subject to garda vetting and appropriate character references.
