An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This advertisement is for a panel of substitute SNAs to provide cover in Carmona School.
Carmona School is located in Dun Laoghaire and caters for pupils with severe or profound general learning disabilities aged 4-18 years. We have a whole school approach to Positive Behaviour Supports and we also follow a Total Communication approach.
We are a small and dynamic school team of 8 class teachers and 21 SNAs, that values collaboration in the classroom as well as in the planning and assessment process. Following years of this collaborative approach, the school now has a suite of resources that are incorporated into a package to support new staff joining the team to ensure a positive transition to our unique setting.
Carmona School has access to a full-time HSE Multi-Disciplinary Team attached to the school. Currently on campus we are supported by a full-time Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Physiotherapist, and a part-time Behaviour Support Specialist. These therapists work with our school pupils ensuring that vital inputs and supports are readily available to our classroom teams of teachers and SNAs.
We are currently looking to increase our panel of Substitute SNAs, so if you are interested in subbing here, can you please forward an application form and a cover letter introducing yourself and we will get back to you.
