The Board of Management of Templebreedy National School, Crosshaven, Co. Cork invites applications for the position of principal teacher from February 23rd 2026.
Templebreedy is a co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Church of Ireland Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross.

The roles and responsibilities of this post of Principal are aligned to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:

1. Leading teaching and learning
2. Managing the organisation
3. Leading school development
4. Developing leadership capacity

Applications for this position will ideally have
-An understanding of and commitment to the Church of Ireland ethos of Templebreedy N.S and an ability to support and promote school and parish links
-Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with pupils, staff members, Board of Management, parents and guardians and the wider school community
-An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary schools
-An in-depth knowledge of the Primary curriculum and a wide range of teaching experience with in a primary school
-Understanding and knowledge of the requirements associated with the provision of Special Education Needs, Inclusion and Diversity
-Involvement in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school school based initiatives
-Previous experience in policy development
-A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development

The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, satisfactory references, Occupational Health Screening and the approval of the Patron
