Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní is currently seeking a reliable, flexible, and practical individual to join our team as a Part-Time School Caretaker.
Role description:
• Hours: 15 hours per week (Typically 7.45am to 8.45am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday during school term, with flexible hours during school holidays i.e. days without pupils on site). The successful applicant must be able to work set hours as agreed by the Principal / BOM.
• Contract: One-year fixed term, with potential for renewal
• Start Date: 5th January.
• Hourly Rate: €15.66 subject to Department of Education funding.
The Job Description entails the following duties (this is not an exhaustive list):
• General maintenance and repairs to both interior/exterior of building and grounds including painting, grass cutting, strimming, weeding, hedge cutting,
• Organising classrooms, maintaining equipment, waste management, monitoring the building, opening and closing for various events
• Occasional painting and DIY tasks
• Key-holding and basic security tasks,
• Assisting with school health & safety protocols
• Checking school and school grounds after weather events yellow, orange and red warnings
The ideal Candidate will have:
• A strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Practical DIY skills in order to carry out painting and minor repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Respect for the ethos and confidentiality of a school environment
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional out-of-hours access (e.g. school meetings, works)
Duties will change in accordance with the needs of the school. The successful candidate must be flexible and work off their own initiative.

• Full adherence to school safety and operational guidelines is required.
• All necessary tools and protective equipment will be provided.
