An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
There is a new route commencing in Glenville National School bringing a child from the Mahon area to Glenville, near Watergrasshill in the morning and back again in the afternoons.
Ideally the candidate would have their own transport to meet the driver, but this may not be essential depending on your location.
The route will take a minimum time of two hours daily but it may be longer, as the details are to be finalised. The route will transport a student with special needs.
Applicants would need to be available in the morning before school and after school. The school's opening hours are 8:40 - 14:30
The current hourly rate, set by the Department of Education, is €15.66 per hour.
Duties will include escorting children to and from Glenville National School, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated with seatbelts and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point.
Previous experience working with children with special needs would be an advantage but is not essential.
All Bus Escorts must be Garda vetted by the school.
We are unsure of the start date at this time as the route is out to tender with Bus Éireann.
