The escort will accompany pupils on a taxi/bus transport from their home to and from school.
The escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons (approx 7:00am-8:45am, and again from 1:20-3:30pm).These are optimal times and will be confirmed once routes are confirmed.

The escort will ideally have their own transport, so as to meet the Driver at the school, or a nearby/ convenient location, to be agreed with the Driver.

Experience of working with children with additional needs is preferable, but not essential. Must be reliable and punctual, kind, caring, patient and work well with children. They will be expected to communicate effectively with parents/ guardians, pupils, teachers, SNAs, school principal and drivers, therefore should have excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include accompanying and supervising pupils with an autism diagnosis on their bus journey to and from school, ensuring seat belt is secured, helping with boarding/alighting from the taxi/bus, and ensuring a safe handover to the class teacher and SNAs in the morning, and to parents/guardians after school.

Rate of pay: €15.66 per hour.
Bus Escort posts are renewed annually and are dependent on NCSE allocation re: Special Classes, pupils and Transport Routes.
