Additional Information:
The Board of Management of St. Daigh's National School, Inniskeen, Co. Louth invites applications for the permanent position of Principal commencing on the 3rd November 2025.
Th appointment will be made via open competition.
Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council (Route 1- Primary) be fully Garda vetted and have a minimum of 5 years recognised teaching services, two of which must be recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
Appointment is subject to current Teaching Council Registration , Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening and satisfactory references.
The Principal will work in collaboration with the Board of Management and staff to ensure that all students will have a positive educational experience, that there is a strong leadership across the school and that the school conforms to the governance structures as set out by the Department of Education and Skills.
The principal along with the Deputy and ISM Team will model and develop a strong culture of mutual trust, respect, shared accountability and confidentiality.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
