Additional Information:
Hospital School CHI at Temple Street is a tertiary paediatric Hospital School that provides education for children and young people with medical and mental health needs ranging in age from 4 to 18 years. It is recognised by the Department of Education and Youth as a Special School.
This school operates under the rules and regulations of the primary school sector and consequently
teachers will be required to teach up to the end of June, The secondary curriculum up to
Leaving Certificate is provided and students are prepared for State Examinations. Some
students are supported in courses such as FETAC/QQI/LCA or alternative educational programmes.
The teaching staff work collaboratively with other teaching colleagues and clinical staff in the hospital as part of the Multi-disciplinary team.
We aim to deliver a high quality education service that is appropriate, holistic and customised for each child and young person and to equip all students to leave the Hospital School, empowered with a positive attitude towards continuing their education.
This is a full-time position.
A genuine interest in working with students with Additional Educational Needs to help them achieve their full potential is extremely important therefore, an additional qualification and experience in working in Special Education is desirable.
Qualifications and experience in teaching "Required Subjects" are preferable, however an element of flexibility is necessary in teaching a range of subjects.
Candidates are required to have Teaching Council Registration.
