Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This post is in a class for children with ASD and an Intellectual Disability between the mild to moderate range for pupils aged 4 to 12 years old.
A knowledge of ASD would be desirable but not essential also experience of working in an ASD specific class of pupils with highly complex needs and challenging behaviours would be desirable. Practical experience in the promotion of positive behaviour strategies is desirable. Experience in and knowledge of pedagogy and practice associated with an ASD class is highly desirable. Experience in the use of LAMH and the TEACCH approach will be required in this special school setting.
Additional Maternity Leave etc positions may be required to be filled for the coming academic year will be filled from a panel following interviews for this post.
